As the opening credits unfold, audiences are transported into an unexpected world of superior cinematic realism, carried away by the highest picture quality and immersive sound. The creation of this attractive universe was in charge of Prometheus I, of Barco Residential.

High-end simplicity

Prometheus I combines media server functions with cinema processing electronics: Barco’s Integrated Cinema Multimedia Processor (ICMP) with HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 support. The ICMP has two HDMI inputs to support Bluray, DVD, game console and other multimedia devices. The projector offers advanced processing power combined with the media server function, integrated playback and content management. Barco Alchemy lets you project 4K 2D content at 60 fps and 4K 3D content at 30 fps. The reduction in hardware required makes installation simpler and the system more reliable and user-friendly.

4K at the highest level

Several new components add enhancements to the Prometheus I. A dedicated 4K (4 x 3Gb / s) input board allows native 4K content to be played. Its wide color gamut filter creates a wide spectrum of perfect colors. In addition, thanks to the specially manufactured high contrast lens, the Prometheus I displays images with much higher contrast. We believe that when it comes to light output, contrast, and color performance, the Prometheus I performs at the highest level.
