Cardioid Condenser Microphone from Shure is essentially a Shure Beta 98A accessorized with a drum mount and a heavy-duty cable. The package is intended to perfectly mount and position the Beta 98A on any stand and is recommended for a variety of acoustic or amplified instruments including drums, piano, reed, wind, and strings. Its cardioid polar pattern effectively minimizes off-axis feedback and noise, and its tailored frequency response reproduces drums with pristine results. The Beta 98A’s high SPL response captures transients without noise and distortion. Its miniature profile is ideal for close positioning, without interfering with the performance.

The BETA 98AD / C is a cardioid condenser drum microphone supplied with the A98D flexible boom drum mount system. The BETA 98A / C is the same microphone, but without the mounting system. The BETA 98 AMP / C has a built-in preamp.

Note: Any BETA drum mic that includes the letter “A” after its model number contains a new capsule that produces an even more natural high frequency response.
