Yamaha MGP12X
Yamaha MGP12X Mixing Console
Since the introduction of the PM200 in 1972, our first professional-grade analog mixing console, Yamaha has created an extensive number of lines of professional audio equipment. In 1987, we also introduced our first digital mixing console, the DMP7, and since then we have introduced technological innovations that have increased sound quality and reliability, incorporating advanced features thanks to the latest generation of digital technologies. Drawing on decades of experience in creating world-class, innovative analog gear, we’ve developed our new professional-grade Class A discrete mic preamps for our high-end recording equipment. With an inverted Darlington circuit design, Our redefined D-PRE mic preamps feature rich, immersive sound that gives the MGP Series a significant edge over any other mixer in its range. Using Yamaha’s exclusive X-pressive EQ system, we have managed to achieve analog authenticity, unraveling the mystery behind the sound shaping of classic EQ modules. The compact configuration of the MGP presents a new approach to the use of digital technology in analog mixing consoles, incorporating a series of high resolution effects, integration with the iPod / iPhone, as well as the warmth and musicality of the Premium analog sound. like the great features of our new Hybrid Stereo Channel.
32-channel Premium Mixing Console
- 24 Micro Inputs with 48V Phantom and HPF per Channel
- 32 Line Inputs (16 mono and 4 stereos)
- 6 Aux Sends (2 Effect Sends)
- 4 GROUP buses + ST bus
- 2 Matrix Outputs
- 1 Mono Output
When it comes to audio engineering and sound reinforcement, the bottom line is unanimous: nothing beats the warmth and musicality of analog sound. By incorporating state-of-the-art digital technologies into the development process of our world-class analog professional equipment, the MGP series represents the next step in the evolution of professional compact mixing consoles.
In the preamp the sound begins to be created, determining the character and quality of the overall mix. The critical importance of this first step has inspired us to develop the warmest, most immersive sounding preamps possible – our new and remodeled D-PRE mic preamps. Originally intended for use with professional Yamaha recording equipment, these first-class, discrete studio preamps feature an inverted Darlington circuit design that contains multiple circuit elements in a multilayer configuration, delivering increased power at low impedance. This means that all the character, depth and feel of the original signal incorporates enveloping and natural bass, as well as bright and crystal clear highs. Rediscover your favorite microphone or your instrument of a lifetime, capturing its entire expressive and musical spectrum and achieving a sound that, rather than being heard, is perceived with all the senses. With 48V per channel phantom power and a sound that stands out from today’s compact mixing consoles, the MGP series’ advanced studio mic preamps are a class in their own right.
Everyone knows that a vintage EQ sound is incomparable, but not everyone knows why. During the development of the innovative VCM (Virtual Circuit Modeling) effects used in our high-end professional mixing consoles, we increasingly focused on reproducing the warmth and musicality of classic vintage EQs. It was during the process of modeling the original circuitry of some of the most sought after EQ modules that we discovered the characteristic «X-shape» of the unique frequency curves on these units, proving to be essential to achieving true vintage authenticity. More than just a means of adjusting your mixes, the precise response and steep shelving slope of the high and low frequencies make X-pressive EQ a powerful sound shaping tool that essentially redefines the role of EQ in the sound reinforcement process. Never before has the contribution of a sound engineer to the overall mix been so significant, as X-pressive EQ offers total control of every aspect of the sonic palette.
