BARCO Loki CinemaScope

The unique design of the Loki Cinemascope allows you to project Cinemascope movies without an anamorphic lens. The projector also integrates Barco’s famous single-step image processing and low-latency scaling technologies.

The Loki CinemaScope’s image quality is unsurpassed thanks to its optical engine based on our acclaimed optical architecture, custom-designed spherical glass components, and enhanced low-dispersion glass lenses. It not only offers higher contrast, but also a more visible level of detail in the darkest parts of the image.

Cinemascope

Loki CinemaScope has a unique automatic aspect ratio detection function. It will search for content in CinemaScope and automatically enlarge the image to fit 5,120 x 2,160 resolution, and of course switch back to 16: 9 (3,840 x 2,160) if you have content in that format. The aspect ratio will also change when a CinemaScope movie has a menu outside the active picture frame. Optionally, you can manually switch between the different formats.

Laser light source

Unbeatable image quality also requires an exceptional light source. That is why we have integrated the new dual laser engine into the Loki CinemaScope system. Along with the significant improvement in image uniformity, lasers last longer than traditional projector lamps, as they are not as fragile and allow almost instantaneous on / off. Light life of up to 60,000 hours.

Liquid cooling

The Loki CinemaScope goes from having a fan-only cooling system to having a liquid-cooled PID regulation system, allowing the Loki CinemaScope to operate at any angle.
