BARCO Balder

Manufactured to perfection in Belgium, it includes the finest components such as aluminum and glass. Balder shares the same HDR and Ultra HD compatible electronics as the higher-end Loki models, the optical design and the new unique laser engine, also based on the Loki platform.

The image quality of the Balder system is unsurpassed thanks to its architecture-based optical engine, custom-designed spherical glass elements, and the improved low-dispersion glass lenses of its big brother, the Loki system. To top it off, Balder is made of aluminum: 37 kg of pure quality. The result is the best image ever achieved with a system at this level.

State-of-the-art electronic components

All of the new “Platinum” electronic components are designed to process 4K with HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2, while the most advanced 0.9 «DMD DLP chipset is used for the optical engine, capable of reproducing 3,840 x 2,160 pixels in screen.

Balder also includes HDR10, motorized lenses, and a function to switch between 16: 9 and Cinemascope. Incorporating Barco’s exclusive RealColor processing, Balder enables easy and accurate calibration to any white point or gray scale.

Laser light source

Unbeatable image quality also requires an exceptional light source. That is why we have integrated the new laser engine into the Balder. Along with the significant improvement in image uniformity, lasers last longer than traditional projector lamps, as they are not as fragile and allow almost instantaneous on / off. The light output is up to 7,000 ANSI lumens.
