Great concept at a great price. Extron’s equivalent device is approximately double. MuxLab’s device seems to deliver on the basic and more challenging tasks. I was able to send RS232 strings, control the on board relays and send an IR command. I have not yet tested the IP to RS232 pass through yet. My disappointment was mainly in support (manual and additional cited software) and the inability to control the LED feedback on the buttons even though there was a clear intent for that capability. Since the software their manual called out would not connect to my device, I had to call them and they sent me the latest firmware and an uploader which I installed. Unfortunately, it didn’t improve any of the problems I was having. Bottom line, if you don’t have the money for Extron and you just need to do the basics, it should be adequate. I personally hope they get it working like their original intent which would make an elegant solution to small conference room control.
